Türchen 20 - Musik

This is a short little piece – Ricercar pro Tempore Adventus “Ave Maria klare” by Johann C. F. Fischer – I recorded for advent. The choral “Ave Maria klare” is traditionally sung on the feast day of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, celebrated on December 8th. Johann Caspar Ferdinand Fischer was a German composer. Fischer’s work is regarded as a precursor to J.S. Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier. In 1775, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, the son of Johann Sebastian, remarked that his father “loved and studied the works of Kapellmeister Fischer.” For this recording, I have chosen Fischer’s Ricercar pro Tempore Adventus. This selection beautifully complements the rich, resonant tones of the “Flauto conico 4’ ” in the positive division of the exquisite Mascioni organ in the Church of Azzio, Italy. The instrument’s depth of character and soulful presence proved to be a truly inspiring force. Olaf Mundigl
